The 52 Project: July 14

Alexis_Borgata^^I spent last weekend in Atlantic City, at the Borgata Water Club, to celebrate my friend Alexis’s upcoming wedding. It was a blast. Then I drove straight from Atlantic City to Rehoboth Beach in Delaware for a week of vacation with the family, so I’ll probably be a bit MIA this week. Plenty to updates to come next week, my friends. Bis bald!

Weekly_Photo^^ This past weekend, Chris and I attended a wedding at Bobo Restaurant in the West Village. To get there we had to transfer to the 8th Ave. L line, which has these adorable little statues all around the station. How. Stankin’. Cute.

which included some quality bonding time with this little guy, my nephew.
Holy crap he’s cute … and holy crap he’s growing up fast!

Bis bald, friends!

The 52 Project: June 9

photo 8^^Well kids, no sooner did I post about wanting to visit the Met rooftop
when we have visitors this summer than  did we do just that.
My dad and stepmom came into the city this past weekend for an early Father’s Day celebration,
and we visited the Met rooftop for drinks as part of an epic day.
More on that tomorrow!

World_Trade3^^ Chris and I went to visit the new 9/11 Memorial with his uncle this past weekend.
The experience left me feeling so many different things, all of which
I will try to put into words in a blog post very soon.

photo 13^^ Happy day after Memorial Day my friends! I figured since yesterday was
a holiday, I’d just post my photo for the week today. Chris and I spent the long weekend
out and about around this beautiful town with friends and family. (More on that tomorrow.)
Hope ya’ll had a great, sunny weekend!

Rain_Tree
^^ Yikes, I’m a bit late today guys, sorry! I was home for Mother’s Day
this past weekend and I’m all screwed up on my days. Anyway, I snapped
this photo while laying in my mom’s hammock on her back porch this weekend
right before it started pouring down rain. Ominous, right? I mean the filter helps, but still 😉

Potomac_Kayaking

^^ Welcome to May, my friends! We kicked off this month with a bang!
I spent all of last week through Saturday with a friend of mine in the suburbs of D.C.,
then hopped on a train as soon as the bus got back to NYC on Saturday
to head to Long Island to watch Chris run the Long Island Marathon yesterday.
(More on that later!)
For now, here’s a picture from the day Lisa and I
went kayaking in the Potomac. Something about it makes
me feel so at peace. Anyway, happy May, friends!

_DSC5735^^ Hiya friends! So we’re back from Colorado, and holy crap is it beautiful!
I’ll be posting later this week about our visits to Boulder, Breckenridge and Denver,
but for now I leave you with this, a photo of myself and my sister
on our hike through the Flatirons in Boulder.
Not too shabby, huh?

First_Egg

^^ I found one, ya’ll — I found one! Ever since I found out about
The Faberge Big Egg Hunt taking place al over the city, I’ve been dying
to spot one. Well this past Friday was my lucky day friends! I found two gorgeous
ones over at the Boathouse in Central Park.
Easter made.

Manatee^^ I met the friendliest little manatee in the Florida Keys last week.
This little guy swam around with the little kids at the hotel for hours.
He loved back scratches and fresh water hoses.
So. Stinkin’. Cute.

Look for my full Marathon & Jupiter post to come tomorrow, friends!

Last_Spin^^ Prepping for my final spin class at the 93rd St. NY Sports Club.
I had to cancel my membership since we won’t be here for another
full year, and paying month-to-month is astronomical.
It’s been real, spin class. I’ll surely miss you.

Me and Rory
^^ Last week I had the pleasure of watching my adorable nephew
with my stepmom for a couple of days in Pennsylvania
while my sister and brother-in-law worked.
This is something my stepmom does for them every week,
so it was really fun to be a part of their normal routine and see
what life is like for little Rory, who turned one just last Monday.
This is the two of us at the local library’s story time. Ah-mazing.
How could you not love that face?!

Subway_Work^^ Coming home late from Brooklyn on Saturday night (well, Sunday morning, I guess),
MTA workers were doing some construction on the 4/5 subway line at
the Union Square stop. In all my years here, I’ve never actually
seen the MTA at work. It was loud and stinky and dangerous …
all hail the MTA workers who work to keep our subway lines safe!

Guggenheim

^^ Made a little trip to the Guggenheim this weekend to check out the Italian Futurism
exhibit, followed by brunch at the cute and cozy East End Kitchen.

Jacobs_Pickles^^ This insaneness — four different types of pickled foods on the top
and mushroom mac & cheese on the bottom — was brought to us by
Jacob’s Pickles on the West Side. We stopped by Saturday for brunch and were not
disappointed. The restaurant serves all locally sourced, organic foods (read: expensive),
and is known for their beer, biscuits and pickles. They’ve got a seriously long
list of beers available, some of which were even from the tiny little
upstate town where I’m from. You know I had to get the Newburgh
beer to represent, right?

The 52 Project: Feb. 17

photo^^ I’m cheating ever-so-slightly with this 52 Project pic, seeing as how it’s actually four pictures …
so sue me 😉 This past Friday, Chris and I ticked another little something off our
NYC bucket list when we hit up The Campbell Apartment in Grand Central for
Valentine’s Day drinks. This place is classic old-school New York, my friends.
It’s dark and the music was right out of multiple old-time soundtracks
(think “When Harry Met Sally” and “Sleepless in Seattle”). It was pretty expensive
(as in $120 for an olives and nuts appetizer and five drinks), but what
isn’t these days? This place is so fun. Get dressed up in your classiest gear
and head over to The Campbell Apartment, a place with a coat check,
waitresses and hostesses in beautiful little black dresses and
bar tenders who actually care about their jobs. (And have fabulous moustaches!)

I’m back tomorrow with our final Iceland installment. Bis bald!

Blue_Lagoon^^ It’s hard to believe Chris and I were just at the gorgeous
Blue Lagoon in Iceland earlier today. I cannot wait to share
all of our Iceland photos and stories here throughout the week!
