Back when I was interning for free and still in the process of looking for a full-time job, I did a lot of research looking for a great volunteer organization that I could do some traveling with.
One of the organizations I came across is called Projects Abroad. It’s a great organization with tours in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Fiji, India, Mongolia, Tanzania, Thailand and more. There are so many different projects to choose from with this group, it seems like there has to something that will excite everyone. If you’ve ever been interested in traveling and volunteering, check out more info after the jump.
Maybe (hopefully!) at some point in my life I will be able to take time to do some volunteer travel. I’ve heard lots of stories from friends and family who have done it, and who have come back and said it was life changing.
What I love most about Projects Abroad is that you can choose how you want to spend your time in another country. Are you interested in teaching? Conservation? Journalism? Law and Human rights? There are tons of different projects for whatever your interests are.
Another great thing about this program is that they offer 2-week trip options to tons of places for volunteers who can’t commit to a month or more of traveling (such as myself), but who still want to contribute (also me).
Only have 2 weeks? You could still go to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, Peru, Romania, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Togo.
That’s a large list.
You can intern abroad as well, or even travel as a family.
What a noble way to travel and see the world!
